My journey in coffee began when I was first exposed to specialty coffee during my work travel to the US. At that time, I was fascinated by how coffee tasted differently as well as attracted to latte art. Since then, my interest in coffee grew and I took up barista training in both Singapore and Australia.

In 2007, I founded Lighthouse Coffee to contribute positively to the specialty coffee industry in Malaysia. With the aim to educate the coffee market, we started our own barista workshop and was one of the first company to conduct such training in the country.

I am also a certified Q grader and have experience judging in various coffee competitions. Notably, I was a jury in Best of El Salvador Coffee Auction 2016 and Best of Panama Coffee Auction 2016. Other than that, I was also a sensory judge in the National Barista Championship of both Singapore and Malaysia.

I was the president of Malaysia Specialty Coffee Association from 2014 to 2016, and the immediate past president from 2016 to 2022.
